The soccer season in Borris didn't get off to the best of starts this year. The U19's were playing at home in the cup on Tuesday against Wexford CBS. They tried hard the whole game but didn't take their chances. In the end Wexford ran out 2-0 winners. Best for Borris were Seanan Doyle, Niall Canning and Jack Ryan.

The U17 team had their first game of the year away to Tullow in the league. Again they fought bravely and were the better team for the majority of the game. Unfortunately, their failure to capitalise on their dominance was punished as Tullow eventually ended up with the 3 points on a scoreline of 5-3. Best for Borris were Tadgh Daly, James Smithers and Louis Brennan.

The U15's also had their first game of the year. Playing St. Keirans at home on Monday in the league was a tough start. They were very unlucky to lose 2-1 after controlling the game for the most part. They also missed a penalty along the way.

The U17's were away to St. Keirans on Thursday in the cup. St. Kierans won the U15 All Ireland Cup and the Leinster League two years ago and have a number of high profile players. Borris were missing a few players through injury but put in a huge performance. They were unlucky to lose 2-1 in the end. Best for Borris were Shiam Harmon, Aidan O'Loughlin, Michael O'Neill and goalscorer Senan Doyle.
