Borris 3 Pres 1

(Seanan Doyle (2), and Eoin Hosey)

Borris finally gave their season a kick start by overcoming Pres in difficult conditions in Highview Fc. The scoreline was 0-0 at half time with neither team in total control. Borris eventually broke the deadlock after some great work by James Smithers allowed Seanan Doyle to smash home from close range.

This was quickly followed by Doyle's second. A deep cross to the far post was expertly kept in play by Ciaráin Kavanagh and Doyle was on hand to bundle over the line after a tussle with the keeper.

The third goal came due to Shiam Harmon's determination to win the ball back on the right wing. A move started and finished in Myshal involving Harmon, Scott Tracey, Tadgh Daly and James Smithers saw the ball fall to Doyle who fed Myshal man Hosey to slam the ball high into the net from just inside the box.

There was still time for Pres to get a consolation. They could have made it more shortly after, but for fine saves from O'Loughlin in goal.

Best for Borris on a good day were Daly, Hosey, Smithers, Kavanagh and Doyle. Next up is a trip to Bagenalstown to face the current champions on Thursday week.
